Will a 10 valve head swap onto any B5 block?

I'm posting here since, I think, the 10 valve heads were only available on older models. I have a 01 S60 with the B5244S in it. I'm curious if the 10 valve head would fit on my block, or if I'd need to swap to a different block.

No big plans yet, but I've been thinking about building a new engine and auto trans to replace the stock setup if something happens to the stock engine.

I know the 20 valve is supposed to breathe better at higher rpms, but most of my driving is city driving with an occasional drive out of town. I do enjoy a nice drive through the country, though not as often as I used to.

I'd like better low end torque, and less complexity, which is my reason for wanting a 10 valve over the 20 valve engine. Plus, with less parts, I'm assuming the reliability would go up and the cost would go down.

I don't believe the 10V was fitted to the P80 V/S70's in North America. In fact I believe it was only fitted to 850's as an option in Canada. There is also a big difference in power, 146 bhp v's 170 bhp. The 10V is a sweet motor though and good torque low down. 20V is as you say stronger higher in the rev range.

Now if it will fit your S60 motor I don't know.
