2007 S60 Cam install and timing

Post by 10k »

Aloha to All. I decided to tackle a head job for my daughters 2007 S60 2.5T. Thought it would be cut and dry until I got to the Dual VVT timing and seting up the timimg belt. This is probably run of the mill for some of you, but I am not getting how to properly resetting the cams and gettingthe timing correct. I don't mind doing the research, but I am asking for guidance and or resources to understand the variable timing system and properly setting the cams and timing belt. This is my first time posting, and I look forward to any help. Thank you

Tons of info in forum, the bottom line is:

- Lock the rear camshafts using good tool such as CTA or proper home-made tool.
- Cam seals: Volvo or Corteco is fine.
- I'd add a tiny bit of black RTV on the outer edge of the seal. It needs to sit flush with the chamfered edge.
I posted info in forum.
- The VVT hub; gently tighten the center T55 bolt, then adjust back and forth a bit. Only after you are happy with the
setup, then tighten it to correct torque.

I posted some info here:
