Volvo C70 Lock Alram Control Module

Post by VolvoTR »

Greetings to everyone, when I bought my vehicle, it did not have a remote control ( 1998 Model ), I bought a 1998 model S70 key, but I could not program it because we did not have a VST device, I am thinking of buying the lock alarm control module from the vehicle from which the remote came. My question is, I get the lock alarm control unit 9459309, is there any problem with the lock alarm control unit 9459480 of the remote? Confusing me, my vehicle is 2 doors, the module I will buy is for a 4 door vehicle. Thank you from now.

i believe that if you take the relay under the dashboard for the guard alarm (slot 210/211) and pop that into your C70 it should work fine. Robert DIY has a great video on pairing a keyfob to a car as well.

hope this helps!

I've looked at the subject on my car (98 V70, built in 97) a few times, and havent found a clear answer. Seller said "ah ye the remotes just need new batteries"

I have managed to program the immo chip to work with the car, but that doesnt make the remote work.
It does not have a 210/211 relay, and the relay sockets arent even populated.
No remote module behind the glovebox like the older cars, the plug is there but plugging a module doesn't do anything.

My next theory is that without VST you need to find a remote module (the one under the dash, right above the instrument cluster) with matching remotes.

The alarm on my car never worked, it came with an aftermarket one that I removed a while ago. Maybe I haven't found how they deactivated the OEM alarm to let the aftermarket one work.

yeah it needs a central locking relay and the 210/211 relay in order to pair and use a keyfob.

You usually get immobilizer functions a few years earlier in EU markets vs NA markets so be careful of advice from ABCs….. Angry British Colonists who can’t spell.

My central locks are working now (trunk, gas tank lid, etc.), only because I didn't have a remote control, I bought a key belonging to the S70 instead of the C70, but I couldn't program it.I'm wondering if it would be okay if I took the module of the car where I bought the S70 controller.the difference of 2 doors and 4 doors is also that the part numbers are different.

i would at least give it a shot, pop the relay from the s70 into the c70 and if it doesn't work you can always put it back, no harm in trying!

RobertDIY only covers NA market cars from what i've seen but it should be more or less the same?
