Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Speaking of mounts... replaced the trashed iPd torque rod bushing with a Powerflex today. Much better!

Changed out the voltage regulator from a worn out bosch to a transpo ib520. Did an oil change and transmission drain and fill. Have to tackle the exhaust next week.
Full load readings went from 12 < on old reg to 12.5 V with all loads present. Had a .3 drop on battery + cable so that needs to be dealt with eventually. Atleast my battery will consistently charge under normal loading.

It's only a year or two old, believe it or not. I'm really disappointed by the quality of the iPd bushing. It was definitely vibrating more than it was before. I felt like it was feeling kinda harsh for a while, then I noticed the chewed up bushing while I was doing other stuff under the hood and it all made sense. I still haven't driven it yet since replacing the bushing, but I'll drive it today and see how much better it is!
They do, but not a whole lot. My car has more NVH than the typical P80 because I have the poly bushings on this torque rod, the lower torque rod, and delrin subframe bushings. I don't mind it, but some may not like it. I'm sure with an auto trans, it would be a little annoying sitting in gear on the brakes.
After putting poly transmission mounts on my E46, nothing like this will phase me. Those genuinely made me think I had a severely unbalanced flywheel or something else horribly wrong. The vibrations were unbearable. Put some stock rubber ones back, the car feels great now. I would never recommend those poly trans mounts on a BMW!

While trying to diagnose other things, I noticed my battery voltage was quite low, even when the car running.
It would appear that someone (
) forgot to tighten the alternator terminal bolt, that would do !
