Hello, again gentlemen;
Figured I would ask to see how hard it might be to replace all four brake hoses on my P2. I already sprayed all of the fitting ends with WD-40 so that I wouldn't damage the metal lines. The only difficult part might be the bleeding part. Do I need some special bleeder tool?
Thanks in advance.
Replacing brake hoses?

Before you hit with ( not WD40, see below) do three cycles of 30 seconds propane heat and cool on the metal to hose junction
After the last cool hit with one of these
Liquid wrench, pb blaster, deep creep, Kroil, 50/50 acetone and ATF mix

I bought new flare wrenches on amazon, they worked good, didn't have much trouble at all, sprayed something or other on the fittings .
Bleeding was a matter of pumping up pressure , brace the pedal against the seat with a stick and open/close the bleeder until it no longer sputtered. Did it 3 times on both sides. Used a 12 inch section of clear tube on the bleeder to direct fluid at the ground. Its easier to see the air bubbles with the tube.

- FRONT Brake hoses are subjected to up/down and R/L turn movements, and are usually cracked at 100K miles. So yes replace them.
- REAR brake hoses usually last > 200K miles. Check, if no cracks, leave them alone.
- Use ATE, FTE or Corteco brands, about $10/each.

Thank you everyone! I do have a can of "PB Blaster" in the garage. Will re-do. Also will run over to Home Depot and buy a small tank of propane with adapter end.

Sorry, follow-up question. Does anyone know the size(s) needed of flare wrenches for my P2? Metric I will assume.
