Alarm going off - V70 2.4(140)auto GB ver2

Post by Loughtan »

Any tips on locating what sets off the alarm with all doors and bonnet closed and parked up ?

Is it done on door switches or otherwise, there's no additional movement sensors fitted and it still goes off if 'half guard' mode set.

All the message panel showed was that the alarm had been triggered, but I already knew that :P - thanks !

could it just be dirty contacts on door switches or corrosion on push-on tags ?

There is a switch in the bonnet catch, one in each of the 4 door locks and one in the tailgate lock.

If you have the basic alarm, doors bonnet and tailgate only, there is no half guard position as this only works on the mass movement sensor or the inclination sensor module.

Thanks Bill, gives me somewhere to start looking.
I had gone round and re-closed all the windows, doors and bonnet when it first did it and was ok for an hour or so then tripped again. It would have been useful if the message panel had shown what had triggered it !

It has the switch for half guard which I can set when leaving the dogs inside or when on the boat etc, but I'll see if I can find the switches or wiring to check them out, just locking with the key at the moment to save waking the neighbours !

Cheers

If you find the source of the problem be sure to post it here. I have a similar problem and there are other threads on this subject with no resolutions other than paying the dealer to fix it. Thanks.
