so I have been trying to work out the BCD conversion on VTL's example YouTube video. , so i converted from hex to binary to decimal.
i made it out to either be 2138253318 or 3356283324 or its the numbers shown in the example video with the 0X removed from all 6 numbers.? am I'm barking up the wrong tree?

VTL's CEM cracking video ... no conversion. VTL searched HEX that fell within the range of BCD. For some reason he concluded it was faster and would produce a valid PIN each time.

Do you mean the number shown in the example video is the pin number. Just the 0x has been removed ?RickHaleParker wrote: ↑11 Oct 2022, 21:27VTL's CEM cracking video ... no conversion. I am yet to test it my self I'm still awaiting a obd port and some CAN transducers there seems to be abit of a shortage.

The binary nibbles for BCD 0 - 9 and HEX 0 - 9 are the same.oscilloscope wrote: ↑11 Oct 2022, 23:36

Which CAN transceivers are you looking for?I am yet to test it my self I'm still awaiting a obd port and some CAN transducers there seems to be a bit of a shortage.
A Transducer is a device that converts variations in a physical quantity, such as pressure or brightness, into an electrical signal, or vice versa.

That was ment to say transceiver , I typed transceiver and it came out as transducer. , I have ordered. SN65HVD230D x2 but later had an out of stock notification come through even through it claimed there was 5000 in stock.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 00:38The binary nibbles for BCD 0 - 9 and HEX 0 - 9 are the same.oscilloscope wrote: ↑11 Oct 2022, 23:36

I'm not sure I follow regarding the bcd and hex etc. So how do I convert the pin code? Is the video vtl posted up an old video? So now the cracker does it differently now ?
I did compare few CEM's and for service interval in UK is 0x04 so its 12500 miles, then 0x03 is mostly for US 7500 miles. I have seen 0x05 but haven't try yet. What I did notice if you enable "extendet trip computer with km option" it won't work fully (no km option) until the user defined bit is set. Tempted to use 0x00 as not defined to check the outcome.

No conversion. What you see is what the PIN is.oscilloscope wrote: ↑11 Oct 2022, 23:36RickHaleParker wrote: ↑11 Oct 2022, 21:27VTL's CEM cracking video ... no conversion. Starting at address 0x04E000 in a hex editor you see: 02 70 00 12 63 81
Those are the actual values for the PIN. No converting hex to BCD or anything else. The ONLY thing you have to do is put them in the proper order. In the dump, the positions are 3,1,5,0,2,4
So for mine, dump shows 02 70 00 12 63 81 the proper order and complete PIN is 12 70 63 02 81 00
From VTL's. Video just remove the 0x from in front of each value

The video was made way back in the beginning of all this. The x0 prefix was removed in later versions of the code.oscilloscope wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 01:46 Is the video vtl posted up an old video? So now the cracker does it differently now ?
Lots of SN65HVD230D chips and assembled SN65HVD230D CAN transceiver circuits on eBay.
A eBay vendor in Edinburg, Texas has lots of Bosch CF160.

So I managed to get some wires shark boards , I have no idea if they will work.
It looks abit of a mess i went down the route of finding some from amazon previously. they came through today. so i made a start on what i had. the obd cable is some rubbish set up the wires aren't even twisted. hopefully thats not going to cause much of a noise issue. I uploaded the ino file to my teensy 4.0
But would receive a Flex CAN error. And also a memory error?
