Homework N° 8 : replace serpentine belt;

A promise is a promise. I translated with an online software, so the titles may not be exactly what they should have been in English, but I think it's about right.

I don't think I missed anything. If so, just tell me.

I have built about 40 feet of wood shelving out of 8 foot 2 x 4s and plywood shelves. These are 2 foot deep, 8 foot tall and 8 foot long. Shelves have supports around outer edges and across centers of 2x4s. Bolted frame using 1/4 inch bolts. They are strong enough for most anything but engine blocks.

Hy Buddies,

I am looking for tolerance values for the FENIX 5.2 ignition coil. Any of you have them, for the primary and secondary circuits ? Do i mean correctly the way to measure ?

Is it possible to control a spark plug, on another way than to see if there is a spark when its powered ?

Thanks.

Final work bench and engine.

I'm a "simple" guy, honest. I would love to build a beautiful work bench, but, i have no time to do an artist one, mine must be convenient and functional. If I need drawers, I can always build them later. For now I have to concentrate on my studies and the repair of the 850...

So, here it is like it will be. But to keep an artistic sense, there will be no nails or screws, only wooden dowels, except for securing to the wall. French cleats above. It's gonna be funky !

Yesterday, in front of the building i work in, there was this engine laid by an ... . With the help of my son and my wife, we brought it to my workshop with the 850. My next assignment in 2 weeks will be to open and close a breech. Perfect to get the hang of it. Until then, I should bring all my tools to the shop. I don't know yet what kind of engine it is. I will probably do a video on this work.

Hy Buddies,

I have a technical question (my next homework) about ignition systems on ours cars. I have extracted this post from MVS. It speaks about 3 differents systems. I would like to understand. May someone explain details on these systems ? The global subject of my homework is about testing spark plugs and ignition coil. But i would like to understand what this post talks about.

Thanks.

Hy Buddies,

I've taken my time... 3 homework late. But i had to finish my workshop. It's nearly complete. 50 years i had this in mind. My dreams look like wine, they get better with the time. I know that for most part of you, there is nothing special here, you're born with a hammer in hand, but for a guy like me, it's a new step. I'm super excited !

The next big job will be dress the wall with french cleats.

Some pictures.

I like the cart and catch basin on top of it. Never seen the catch basin like that, but what a great idea!

Garage is looking good! Be careful as the plans can run away with you as it has done with mine! I've just finished adding about 12m of shelf space to try to keep up with all my spare parts and 'stuff'. I hopefully won't need it all, but it will make it easier to find things (I hope!).

The lid is from a trash can lot destined for the dump. Every time I drain the coolant or take out a thermostat, there is always some waste on the floor and I don't like it. Then, the engine I recovered loses all its oil through all the holes. So, I anticipate!

Yeah, the shelves, managing the space, headache. I realized that sometimes, making shelves with rails and brackets takes more space than it gives; 14m2, you have to concentrate... A beer.

Edit : There are two hooks in the ceiling, the hoist will come to put in the middle on a sling. The hardest part will be to center the car ( :D ), so I can get the engine out. A rolling engine support would not be a luxury...
