Odometer Stopped

I was on my way to Ocean City, MD when my odometer gave out!

Well, like so many of us Volvo 850 owners, tonight I found myself tearing apart my dashboard and taking out (and apart) my intrument cluster. That darn tiny little gear with the one missing tooth caused this odometer malfunction.

I eagerly jumped into the project with determination and without a clue. Okay, maybe just a smidged of a clue. HOWEVER.... I wish I would have seen this wonderful step by step instruction first - compliments of of Matthews Volvo Site, nonetheless.

If you are experiencing similar problems with your odometer I sincerely encourage you to try. I know that little $25 to $30 gear makes you say, "Holy Gearbox," but I assure you that in the long run you will not only be proud of yourself, but will have saved a bundle in mechanical labor fees.
