1992 940 Air conditioning

Glad you fixed it and let us know.

Don't wait till summer. The AC should be run at least once a month even during the cold season, obviously on a heat setting, to stop the seals drying out.

My 850 has a manual control heater but I make sure that the AC is switched on when I demist the screen.

turns out its a severe ac leak. I just don't know where it is. I get teh ac working for 10 minutes then it shuts off because of leaking fluid. If I refill it, it goes back on. I tried checking with dye but can't find a leak anywhere. Is there a common place where it is leaking?

Is it usually a metal hose that leaks or rubber?

So what went wrong? On June 10 2007 you had full pressure and now a severe leak.

One of the most vulnerable points on the 940 is the condensor. I lost two in 5 months on mine due to stones being thrown up by other vehicles. Those leaks were easy to find, I just followed the noise.

What sort of dye are you using? Some need a black light to detect the leak.

I'm using a dye made by dynamics. It comes with a black light that I've been using. I have been having trouble spotting a leak with it though.

What type of noise was your condenser making? I didn't think there were any moving parts in it.

It made a hissing noise as it had a hole in it where the gas was coming from.
