2000 V70 missing third gear

Hi all! I received a Volvo v70 in good condition. the only big problem is the missing third gear. I have already changed the valve body and the B4 valve cap. and of course the transmission oil change. all other gears go smoothly. Do you think there is anything left to do to save this transmission? Thank you in advance for your help.

I’m no auto trans expert by any stretch of the imagination, but isn’t it 3rd gear that’s lost when someone mistakenly unscrews the big hex bolt on top of the trans, thinking that’s where you add fluid, causing the band to come loose?
