Finally PCV replacement and other maintenance 05 XC70

Post by sal329 »

That was a fun job to do let me tell you lol the littlest things were the hardest. Replaced the PCV, hoses, cleaned throttle body, cleaned the yellow headlights and installed LED headlight bulbs. Car drives so much better and I can actually see at night

Just ordered those H11 LEDs. They have 30,000 lumens. Normal price is $130 but got them on sale for $50 today. My hazed lens also need a cleaning.

I used the Cerakote kit and it was easy and worked amazingly well

I'll be using a meguiars cleaning kit I already have on the shelf. Like yourself I'll take the front bumper off then dismount these old headlights for the first time. Front bumper removal only takes 10min but the rear bumper is a nightmare. The rear needs to come soon to fix the parking sensor wires that are shorting the rear speakers.

New headlamp bulbs question here… I’m tempted to install similar bulbs on 07 V70 but am concerned for overloading wiring and maybe related issues. See any downsides? Nice work!

I'm not sure why they would cause any issues?

LEDs will pull less current but in the 10573 you might need heat to keep your headlights from icing in winter
