From the looks of your picture you have the Manual climate unit. The lamps for the A/C switch and the fan speed switch - The one that lights up in the fan speed knob are LED's and they should go to the junk yard with the car ands still be good - If they are illuminating don't even try to get to them. For that matter even if they aren't illuminating don't try to get to them. I have taken the A/C switch apart before but it is not for the faint of heart. Once you get it apart springs and contacts go flying and it is a challenge to put back together.TacklaNHL wrote:Sure, makes sense. But I don't have the technical experience or the patience for something like that. If it involves soldering... i'd rather not do it.
Any idea where I might be able to find that part for sale outside of the dealership? Not even sure what it's called.
Also - I replaced the two bulbs behind my climate control knobs today.
While doing so I noticed that I couldn't get to the bulbs for the AC switch or the circulating fan switch. I took a photo of where I believe the bulbs are hiding and noticed that it seems to come apart. But couldn't figure out how exactly it comes apart - I got the clips off but couldn't pull it apart.
On the photo you're looking at the backside of the climate control section - I've marked some areas of interest so that you can establish your bearings.
While playing with it - I lost the piece on one of my climate control knobs that makes the clicking sound when you turn it - probably something I'm going to have to get at a junk yard though. Unless anyone knows where I can purchase one and save me the time looking.
