Rear Intake Camshaft Seal 9443310 Replacement, Is there a write up?

Yes the cam slots are offset from true center diameter. Exhaust and intake are offset oppositely when timing the engine after the cams have been out etc, it is very helpful. At any rate, the offset is why those metal plates only go on properly one way, though as mentioned it is possible to install them 180 out of phase if you're not careful. Like everyone else said!

Got the intake seal in and seated correctly, I bought the $65.00 tool from IPD and used a 1/14'" socket as well to get it seated.

Now another challenge is the rear exhaust seal, which has some obstructions in the way.

Since this is a turbo model, I've got a large pipe or tube in the way of removing the Camshaft Position Sensor. This seems like a hard plastic tube or aluminum pipe, it does not appear to be a rubber hose. Apparently it runs from the air pump to a SAS Valve where it is secured with an Oetiker clamp. Looks like a pain to remove the SAS Valve, so I'd rather remove the pipe/tube from the SAS Valve. I'd like to swing the tube out of the way, but I'm afraid that it will be damaged. Can this be replaced with a rubber hose if it gets damaged? Photos below show the tube marked by the red line:

I can't comment on the pipe / hose since I don't have SAS. But stuff a rag or something in that turbo. IF any thing happened to drop into there.....

Snip that oetiker and get that tube out of the workspace. It’s heavy, high quality rubber and won’t break

Heed that excellent advice from Sveedy in covering that turbo ( spark plug holes, intake holes, ...) whenever the tube is off, a baggie is best.

I removed the Oetiker clamp but left the hose in place, it's like petrified rubber, if there's such a thing. There is no way that hose will come off clamp or no clamp. I was able to replace the exhaust seal by moving things aside, put everything back together, started it up and took a 1/2 hour test drive. It runs very well and no CEL. Before I did this job, the oil leak was horrible, it would leak profusely. But now I noticed an improvement, maybe a drop or two, after the car sits for 10 minutes, which might be a rear main seal or the turbo, which isn't too bad right now.
