2011 S80 3.2 map sensor replacement

Post by Muttley76 »

So… apologies if this has been posted (if so I couldn’t find it), I have seen what seems dozens of examples of Volvo map sensor locations and replacements but none that seem perfect for my car. I’m 75% sure I have located the MAP sensor (right by the dipstick below the manifold, please correct me if I’m wrong), but I’m having some issues getting to it to make sure that’s correct/replace it, I currently don’t have access to a lift but it seems that the bottom is the route to go, I can’t get at it from the top without removing several items. If I’m on the wrong track someone please let me know; I’m perfectly comfortable working on older engines, but electronics scare me to death, I have zero confidence in myself with anything like this even though I know it’s a fairly simple process.

The Latch for the electrical connection is easily damaged so be careful.

The Sensor is difficult to press in and rotate

Paul, a million thanks, both for the advice and links. I hadn’t thought of accessing it through the headlight, that could definitely work. Much appreciated, Matt.
