winding down sound when I brake

Post by chaucer »

I just purchased a 1995 850 Turbo automatic with 275K. Drives great but there are many problems. I have many engine leaks (that don't actually drip onto the ground). I've been told I need to replace the head gasket, should probably do the timing belt, the bushings are squeeking, the power steering is also leaking, when I overfill my gas tank it leaks, and the driver side floor gets wet when I go thourgh a car wash.

Recently the check engine light came on. I suspect the O2 sensors. Can I skip this repair?

There is a strange sound coming from the right side of the vehicle when I slow down and brake. It sounds like a distant jet engine... What could it possibly be? My brakes are new all around, the shocks are fine, my tires are also quite new.

Can I get away with driving it as is? I'm financially strapped at the moment and I rely on this beast to keep me going.

Any suggestions? I do not have any tools, nor do I have a place to do the repairs from.

You may have a bump or ding on that rotor.

brake rotor, im unsure of the consequences of having one bad rotor other than having to replace that pad alot sooner than the other ones or the lack of brake power when trying to stop since it isnt a smooth surface, im just giving my 0.02cents until an expert can help
