Hello,

Gave it another attempt today.
I got my fish thing through the tube and i think it went all the way to the inside and hit the nipple thing inside. That's what i was after.
What didnt work though was i could not find the inside nipple thing again because i did not bring my mirror. I thought i could take a picture with my phone, but it didnt show up on there. So maybe another attempt tomorrow.
So i am about 75 percent through the wire fishing expedition. Maybe tomorrow some success.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Hi,

Ok finally some progress. Got the inside nipple off and the fish line is all the way through the tube, so now i just have to pull the wire through.
That inside nipple thing is really on there good though very hard to pull off. It took some pliers to grab it and yank it off as it's too hard to reach with my fingers. It's right underneath a giant wire nest that is in the way of a better access.

This is after 5 or 6 years of not getting it done.

Hi,

Here is a pic of the nipple things.

Photo: Left is before, Right is after. The white one is easier to spot.

I just have to say though that i dont think i've seen a nuttier thing in my life as these things are. Should they be X rated?

The real problem is the nipple insides are only about 1/8 inch diameter and i need more like 3/8 inch diameter as i am running two wires that are side by side like zip cord for home lamps. That means i have to make a hole bigger than either of those nipple things alone. Maybe cut one off completely.

I just cannot get over how funny they look and who the heck thought of that particular shape, and why that shape.
It makes sense to have individual nipples i guess, but only when you intend to run just one single wire that you would typically run in a vehicle.

Hi,

Thanks, i got an inline fuse right off the battery and a smaller size off the solar panel.

Wire running through door jam, hopefully i can pull it through the tube tomorrow.
Thanks for the ideas i would never know about that tube and the funny nipple things. I bet i could write 100 jokes about those nipples.

Hello again,

Well finally got the wire run through the tube in the firewall. It's been 5 years in the making (ha ha).
I ran an extra cord with it in case i want to pull some other wires though also for some sensors and/or monitoring of things in the engine compartment.

Thanks to all that helped.
