Perhaps this is another good reason to not remove the crankshaft bolt and pulley when changing the timing belt.

It holds fine when torqued properly and the threads were dry. It went off after I replaced the front crank seal. It was PITA to replace, I used a thin piece of plastic as sleeve, lubricated it with oil, a few oil drops ended up on the threads. Had to degrease it better, but I was reluctant to spraying it all over, because it could damage the new seal.
