With the A/C running, the driver's side vents blow noticeably warmer than the passenger's side. Passenger side blows very cold, A/C seems to work fine it is an air delivery issue. Vents and defrost are both affected.
I ran the CCM calibration routine in VIDA, which returned no trouble codes but changed nothing as far as the air mix. I could hear things turning under the dash but did not try to watch the process. Ran it twice, same outcome.
Does this mean an air mixing motor/actuator is bad, if so which one and/or how to better diagnose? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yes. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... or-8623354 You can disconnect the old motor and move the blend door by hand to verify if it gets cold.

Actually, nowadays you can buy only a chip and have old one replaced. The chip that breaks is ELMOS 14301B: https://www.yoycart.com/Product/39044497258/ Mechanical part is most likely still in immaculate order.

How do I access this actuator, is it from the driver's footwell?vtl wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 17:42Yes. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... or-8623354 You can disconnect the old motor and move the blend door by hand to verify if it gets cold.

Although it's a $3 part, the $25 shipping and estimated 3 weeks delivery are factors too. All things considered including my mediocre soldering skills, I'll go with the $100 motor once I confirm the diagnosis.

So I don't think the blend motor/actuator is the problem, a bit stumped here.
I pulled the bottom panel and watched the blend motor and arms under operation. When adjusting the temps from hot to cold and back, the motor turns fine and responds to even small adjustments. What's more, I very carefully compared the range or arclength through which the actuator turns in the XC70 (which is not working well) with the range the actuator runs through on the S60 (which seems working perfectly), and the ranges appear identical. This includes where the actuator arms stop and finish, so I don't suspect something inside the box is jamming the blend door from closing all the way but I suppose it could be.
But the S60 blows cold on both sides, the XC70 is clearly not as cold on the left/driver's side (and not cold enough on the hottest days!).
I have also vacuumed out the temp sensor portal, there is no longer ay accumulated dust in there.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
