V70 oil sump removal

Hi,

Many thanks to the fellow who posted the comprehensive description of changing the sump o-ring on a '93 850. Trouble is, I've got a '98 V70, and it looks like the pan (oil sump) can't be removed without disconnecting the power steering lines. There doesn't seem to be enough room to "move them aside" as the 850 poster described.

It is physically possible to get the pan off without removing the ps lines, or removing the sub-frame? If the lines must be disconnected, is this a big deal? I've always tried to avoid high pressure lines when I can... Any special suggestions?

For reference, the engine started to make a tapping noise (sounds like the lifter on just one cylinder), immediately after an oil change...
