Ya Baby,

I tried and it was good. It took me three minutes to do and now I can now run without the headlights and keep the side markers.

I appreciate the time taken to help others who would like to save a bulb or two.

No more blinding others during break and the drive-in won't be a pain.

Now, if I can just find the "EYE BROWS" for The Anvil I'll be one step closer to the ride I really want.

Later.

So how do I pull the headlight switch out to access the behind? I'm scared to break something if I pull too hard...

Will you also disconnect other safety features on your car like the airbags? :)

bump for not understanding the concept behind disconnecting the daytime running lights... anyone care to explain.

I just switch them off if I do not want them on during the day...

Also.. I did not use a certain three letter word.

I'm with you. I don't get it either. I've ridden bikes for years and cannot
fathom WHY lights out would be better than lights on. My Headlights Help Protect Me!

My first response is a hearty "Whatever..." and I chalk it up to helping thin the gene pool.
My following thought is, "Cheapskates with no headlights might hurt or kill
someone that I really care about...Hmmm. That seems kinda selfish."

So, PLEASE, forget about looking cool and consider the True Coolness of Remaining Alive!

Rant Terminated... Thank You!

People turn off their DRL's for their HID's most of the time.

Find Green/Red wire which will be #5 on the plug and cut it.

Results after I cut the wire

Hate to revive an old thread (I know all the internet-dweller folk get mad), but dude, this was perfect! The only solution I could find online...

For 1998, "Screw A in the illustration (available on U.S. models only) is used to control the automatic daytime running lights when the headlight switch is in position 0."

Some like them. Some don't. For reasons against, not having your corner marker and tail lights on makes it easier to see when the turn signals in front or brakes on the sides come on. Some people pull out in front of emergency vehicles with lights and siren going, so don't bank on DRLs for being seen. Some also drive with DRLs (no headlights) at night in the city where there are streetlights because they see their dash lights on making them harder to spot among other drivers.

I saw the coolest thing on the new Jeep today; LED DRLs which switch off only on the side the turn indicator is used.

Also saw another cool thing..... the 2014 S60 on the road with LED DRLs.....looks really appealing even if ownership of one of these may not be for another 8-9 years for me....

I think the 2014 V60 has this setup too. Unfortunately I'll have been dead for five years before I can afford one of them :-( Pretty nice little wagon though.
