98-99 Alignment specs S70 V70?

Post by Eddystone »

Seems to me that someone posted the exact factory alignment specs for these cars in the forum, and I saved them. Can't find them now, and a search here turns up six million threads. Anyone have them handy?

I've had my 98 V70 in twice and it still isn't done right. Not a mechanical or worn part situation.

All running and on the road.

From the Volvo VADIS:

For the 98 V70 Base Model, Auto.

Front:
Caster 3.35 deg +/- 1.0 deg. Difference between sides Max 1.0 deg.
Camber 0 +/- 1.0 deg. Difference between sides 1 deg.
Toe-In (total) 0.33 deg +/- 0.1 deg.

Rear:
Camber -1 deg +/- 0.5 deg.
Toe-in 0.1 deg +/- 0.2 deg
Trust Angle: Vadis states 15 degrees, which of course is a mistake. It should be 0.15

For the 99 V70 Base Model, Auto.
Front:
Same as for the 98
Rear:
Camber -1 Deg +/- 0.5 deg
Toe-in 0.07 deg +/- 0.18 deg

For the 98 S70 Base Model, Auto
Front
Same as for the 98 V70
Rear:
Same as for the 98 V70

For the 99 S70 Base Model, Auto
Front:
Same as 98 V70
Rear:
Same as 99 V70

If you do the math on the angle, for those of us who align with string, it’s about 3mm of toe at outside edge of tire and 2mm at the wheel edge, best reference

The best settings for handling are 0.15 degrees of toe in in the front, 0.0 in the back, and factory recommendations everywhere else
