Ok, so here I am again looking for some help on the same topic. Just for review, I have replaced the following: O2 sensor, engine coolant sensor, MAF sensor, and have given full tune up including plug wires and rotor cap. Just replaced the MAF sensor today and now the problem seems worse. Will check the codes again in the morning and pass those on to yall asap. Getting very frustrated

Sorry, somehow didn't review what all you had done. I'm hoping some specific Volvo codes will help none-the-less. Good luck!

Alright so here we go, there are no codes in the DTC and no check engine light or service engine light on..... car does not seem to stall anymore. However, sometimes after driving for 20 - 30 mins the car will not turn over again right away, has to sit for couple mins or it will try to turn over and then die out. sometimes it will turn over but idle really low and then rev up for a few seconds then come back to about 1000rpms.

Idling low and then revving up before coming down doesn't sound right. In cold weather, mine has been known to rev high first and then come down. I suspect an electrical problem that probably isn't a huge deal but will drive you nuts...check for corrosion everywhere, including the grounding straps.

Hey thanks for the tip on checking for corrosion.....will do that the next day I have available to tinker in the garage. Damn to do list keeps getting bigger and bigger. Right now the car seems fine except for an oil leek and the starting problem. Oh, yea the oil leek is my next project will look for that tomorrow.after work and let you know my findings on that too. One quick question....... does the hazard light button stay on? dont have an owners manual....maybe theres one around here? I don't have anyway to pay online is there a physical address to send a money order to? For the August help a moderator fund. you guys have been awesome and I would love to donate $25 at least...... Thanks so much, Jason

I'm not sure of your model, but on my mom's '94, she was having simular stall problems. The dealer, everyone was stumped. I did a little research and found that there is a thing called a power module or power buster, which is inline with the ignition system. It is located on the driverside fender well in the engine compartment. I gambled and replaced it, have not had a problem sence.

Your mom still has no engine stall problem w/ her '94 volvo? Can you elaborate more on where to find this power module part? Pics would be helpful. Could this part be called w/ another name or description? Where did you buy the replacement part? Thanks.Rsterns wrote:I'm not sure of your model, but on my mom's '94, she was having simular stall problems. The dealer, everyone was stumped. where did you get all the parts for the tune up? These Volvo's like most German Cars that use Bosch parts are real picky about what u put. if its not OEM or High Quality German made then its a waste of time. same thing goes for that new MAF if its not OEM them most likely the car hates it!
