1995 850 Turbo EGR? yes or no
1995 850 Turbo EGR? yes or no
Just picked up an engine for a swap. Both engines are supposed to be B5234T. Mine has EGR, new one doesn't. Will there be any issue if I go with non EGR? The turbo that came with the replacment doesn't look very healthy. Planning on using mine. Is the turbo different between EGR and Non EGR?

nope. Turbos are the same. Both are 15Gs.
I have a 94 and a 96 Turbo, both w/o EGR.
Running w/o EGR could cause troubles in states that smog.

I would expect that to properly run without an EGR, the ECM would need to be reprogrammed. I have no experience with this, However. My 96 NA does not have an EGR valve.

Thanks for feedback. Engine is in and running. I decided to install without EGR. I did not want to change too much before making sure it ran, to avoid issues if it needed to be returned. Anyhow, as you implied I'm getting a No flow EGR code, believe its a P0400, but doesn't really matter, car is unhappy without the EGR. Its old enough that I don't need to pass a computer check, but I would like to get OBD2 system checking in correctly. Am I stuck putting the EGR in or is there a different non egr computer that i can swap in?
I will say I am a bit confused over the deal with the EGR. The long story is I had two replacements, the first was scrogged because someone had incorrectly replaced the timing belt using the crank pulley timing mark. When I got it and spun it over the valves were banging on the pistons, so I sent it back. Both of these engines were non-EGR and were supposedly 95's. The turbo exhaust flange on the replacement motor was about 1/2" bigger than mine. I used my turbo so I would not need to modify exhaust. I'm wondering if the no EGR, larger exhaust was a higher performance version of the engine?

There were low pressure and high pressure turbos offered in the 850 line , it does sound like you got a different turbo
No emissions checking in NY after 25 years…woo hoo!
