1998 v70 stalling issue

help please....

on the way to work had this going on.
also, how do I message a moderator, my phone couldn't post messages, strange.

thoughts?

rough starting....
revs to 3000 rpm

runs but when I hit the throttle it will stumble

shut off, added gas tank drygas ...two bottles

it's 22 degrees F this morning

limping to work....hopefully get there

just did the coolant sensor
fuel filter done last year

next?

Crank position sensor?
fuel pressure regulator?

Are you stage 0 on cap rotor plugs and wires ?

Ignition parts are the first point of failure in cold weather

is this basically rubbing alcohol? for 2$?

could I went to CVS , and thrown that in? lol

the heet stuff was 7$ for two bottles ....

well at least it's working for now!

I think the yellow HEET is methanol based and the red HEET is isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) based. My memory is that they are pure or nearly pure alcohol. From what I've seen, the rubbing alcohol in the stores usually already contains 10% to 30% water.

If this has helped, it could be a case of your filled the car with some bad gas possibly with water in it. Water tends to sink to the lowest point in the tank so will get drawn through first or tend to freeze in cold weather giving poor starting and running.

Hopefully this gets you over this issue. It gets expensive quickly filling it with that stuff!

hey Canada! we are at 17 degrees! balmy compared to your -30 lol

yeah man, I will add some more heet---- and also fill with 93 octane another time....and stay away from the junky gass stations

maybe I will put some SEAFOAM in the tank as well

anything else I could toss in there?!?! some Kool Aide?

ran around today, no stalling. 4 or 5 different start stops ...10 miles total.

maybe the gas additives worked.....will keep you guys updated!

Fingers crossed it was either dirty injectors or bad gas that has now gotten out of the system. Here's hoping!
