1998 C70 About SRS lamp
Hello ; When I bought my vehicle, the airbags were deployed and the SRS light was on. When I scanned it with Vol-FCR, it showed an error in the driver airbag, passenger airbag and passenger seat belt (SRS-232 / SRS-221 / SRS-222 / SRS-242). The airbags and dash were repaired. I had a driver airbag from a 1998 model donor vehicle. and I bought a passenger airbag, I also bought a dash from a 1999 or 2000 model vehicle and it came with an airbag. I installed the driver airbag from a 1998 model vehicle and the dash from a 1999/2000 vehicle. When I scanned it again with Vol-FCR, I got the same errors. This time, I tested it by connecting a 2.2 ohm resistor instead of the passenger airbag, but I still got the same warnings. What do you think is the problem? Is my test resistor wrong? (2.2. ohm) Or is it necessary to try installing the passenger airbag from the 98 model instead of the airbag from the 99/00 vehicle? (the sockets are different, I have a socket compatible with both of them, the 98 one is green/white cable and the other one is blue/brown)

The SRS system was changed in North America from 98 to 99 years. The main change was the method of setting the system off when from mechanical to electrical. New airbags appear to be no longer available from Volvo.
Looking at the parts drawings for North America, the dashboard airbag and steering wheel airbags for 99 are not compatible with a 98.
What engine do you have 2.3 or 2.4l and is it a coupe or convertible?
Neil.

I believe that change only applies to the side bags in the front seats.
AFAIK, the steering wheel and passenger dash bags have always
been electrically deployed with squibs.
I don’t know squat about air bag module diagnostics, but my first
thought would be to check into a post-deployment reset procedure.

This^^
You can't just replace deployed airbags and expect from system to work.
Crash data from srs module must be erased after airbags replacement to make srs system to work again...or just replace srs module on pre '99 cars.
