Same here. I've used TYC for several vehicles. I'm not sure who, but I believe they are an OEM for a few automakers.

The TYC headlights I bought for my Saturn had an awful light pattern, but they worked for my purposes, and everything else Ive bought from them has been much better..... S70 headlights and turnsignals, Chevy headlights, tails, and front signals and reflectors. I'm disappointed they don't seem to make headights for the 850 (anymore).

I found the left TyC headlight worked well but my right TYC failed after only three months.

There was no documentation saying it could not be used to push a Tesla at 30 mph, so I don’t think it was my fault.

Not yet... but now they're going to have to add that to their product description.

Easy job this morning :)

Did check the LH axle, both my spare and the one on the car have play on the gearbox side joint but none on the wheel side, odd...and it's the opposite on the RH axle !

Worked on my side lights, fender trim, replaced the oil filler cap gasket, and fiddled with the windshield washers.

I also went to the auction house, and briefly looked at more Volvos and other vehicles. They've got a couple S40s that are possibilities, and also an S60. I also saw a Suburban with a 454 :-)

hi all well today i fitted the new rear handbrake shoes and sorted out the rear calipers with a good clean and cleaned the drum and adjuster all is good nick and functions as it should, the reason for the delaminated lining was entirely obvious being the retainer rusted out and shoes sitting at the wrong angle and dragging the edge all the time must get superhot and undo the glue, also some jerk has changed just one side shoes previously as one side was volvo other after market type, why? lazy thats why.
besides that i am just awaiting a new set of rear brake pads and fitting kit being i hope the last expense for a while as it is rather a lot of outgoing cash, money pits is right!but i do still love the car, just want to drive it now back at goodwood motor circuit,,,,,,,later on i am going to do an entire list with costings of all the work ihave carried out and the cost saving of doing the work myself versus garage cost for the same work, first will shock me im sure and 2nd may lessen the shock some!cheers all

Oh no it won't! Been there and done that. There is no such thing as a cheap old car. Not even with a Volvo. It is even worse over here as we have no MOT so owners run cars until they barely work and sell them. As Volvos are usually good at running while broken they usually have a list of issues to repair.

I checked my air filter today and found that it was still the filter that was installed previous to my ownership. I've had the car two years. I thought I had changed it, but that must have been the S70, or I'm thinking of the HVAC filter install. It still looks okay, so I put it back.

I used to be totally up on my car maintenance, even when we had 4 or 5 cars being used. But now we are down to 3 (and one only used 6 months a year), I find it harder to remember. I just went to the Toyota dealer to get the service documents they were supposed to give me. Part of the purchase was all servicing to be brought up to date as they told me the car had a full service history. It didn't. Again I had suspicions that they had change the trans fluid but not the filter. Sure enough that is the case. They also only changes one wheel bearing and not both. I'm hoping to do 2 longer runs of 3400km and 2200km this year (about my annual mileage) so I want everything up to date.

Thanks for the reminder as the R has a K&N filter and I could not tell you when it was last cleaned. In my defense the car has only done about 10000 miles in 12 years, but with so many forest fires it could probably do with a clean!

All 3 cars need an annual oil change, although all run synthetic and have only done 6000km and the R 500km!
