I was going to suggest swapping the coils, but if it is a 2.4l NA it is a pain to do as the whole intake has to come off. A turbo is just a normal access engine.

It is a turbo, but I think the auction house would not like it, if I started unbolting things. I did look at an S70 2.4i a few weeks ago, so I know the intake you speak of. That intake doesn't bother me as much as the goofy airbox mounted up front with the ECM inside it.

I just ordered clips for the trim, and a few other things. I ended up going with IPD, this time.

I've been helping a young student with his V50 T5 manual AWD recently. Not a bad car, but the build quality is suspect. Nearly all the ones I see here have rust appearing, especially on the front fenders. The seat material is also really poor unless it has the 'leather' optioned seats which seem more durable.

I can't possibly see why an auction house would have a problem with you disassembling a car................!?

And as for the airbox....not a great design.

When I was looking at its S40 twin, it had a cloth interior and the front seat was wearing/ripping. The headliner was starting to come down, and I found that's also quite common with them. That car, and the current V50 don't seem to have rust issues at all. I love the frontend/hood design. There are parts of it definitely not up to P80 spec, Though.

I tried looking to see if Ford used something better, as they used the engine in the Focus. Unfortunately, from what I could find, they used the Volvo airbox, too.

Trim is fixed. Those clips sure are difficult to install/remove on the trim side. It still moves a bit more than the passenger side. If I were to do it over again, I think I'd add two small pieces of foam tape. I think it'll hold as is, Though. I'm not sure I could remove the trim without damaging the new clips, so I'm going to leave it.
