Continuing the tidy up of the garage and recent junkyard visits. One thing I never leave is nuts, screws and bolts as they are either NLA, or stupid expensive from Volvo. I am never likely to need them, or probably even a fraction, but the last car I worked on with my mechanic friend meant we needed some replacement bolts for either replacing rusted, busted, missing or wrongly fitted parts. I was able to find replacements for all of them from the stash!
Anyway, here are 2 more for those marvelous minds out there who may be able to point me in the right direction. I will say that they may or may not be from Volvos as these days the junkyards are not kept neatly like they used to be so stuff gets scattered all over.
Here are the offending items:
1) - 70mm x M8 bolt and integral washer. These look like the 99- axle bolts but are thinner. Not sure if they could be from a P80 or possibly P2
2) T40? x 10mm bolts - I found these on a 00 S70 auto that the engine had been removed from. I initially thought they may be flex plate bolts but when I looked those up they are longer and 12 point heads.
Any guidance appreciated!
Neil.

The top look like P80 underside air guide bolts.

Can you clarify for me Matthew? Do you mean the front bumper mounting bolts?
Thanks,
Neil.

850s have an air dam…. a tray that fits under the bumper. It’s the width of the bumper and is under the intercooler. I assume 70 models have this also, but I never actually looked.

Extra MVS points for the English built Metric scale with 20 degree C Standard marking. I do not think I have seen a scale with temperature rating, but it makes good sense.

That was my first 'engineers' tool at university. Our stuff had to be accurate!
As to the air dam. P80 V/S/C70's have the air guide/dam under the bumper to guide the air up over the radiator and A/C/intercooler. Those hare held on with 2 x 10mm headed self threading bolts about 12mm long. I'll relook at 850 drawings but don't recall them using bolts that size? I can't see anything like that on this drawing.

Volvo_mania you are a genius! That is exactly the part. I thought initially it was from a P80, but it's radiator bolts are shorter and the washer is smaller. I pulled a spare radiator for my son's 06 XC70 as someone had already disconnected the cooling pack so the bolt was probably lying there.
Many thanks!
I'm thinking the smaller bolts may not be from a Volvo. The only place I could think they fitted was a flex plate as they are thinner than the manual trans flywheel, but they look too short and wide. They were lying on a P80 00 S70 that a friend pulled the motor from, but does not mean it was not from one of the cars around it.
Neil.
