It’s very common for the ETm to run fine for 100s of miles then suddenly fail, in cycles.

There is in depth discussion in the ETM room but the short version is each throttle body has two sensors, and if the mismatch in reading exceeds some number of discrepancies the throttle body triggers the ECU into ‘ limp mode’ which you have experienced. When they reach the end of life , the discrepancies start occurring more frequently until the code is triggered.
