I'm with Erik on this for the same reason. There is no seal on the shaft as such. The seal at the angle gear on the RHS should only be a dust seal.
The carrier bearing on the RHS you can't tell unless it is out of the car and spin to see if it is smooth or rumbly. FCP carrier that bearing, and apologies if I have repeated this. It is not listed for P2's but it is the same bearing for P80's and P3's. 19mm wide with 75mm OD x 45 ID.
Bearing carrier cap is identical to a P80. FCP had it listed for around $20 for a Febi Bilstien one so maybe worth considering having to hand in case yours is bad. I ordered 2 as back ups in case we needed one for the 02 XC70 wheel bearing swap as I planned to check the bearing while it was accessible. It is not need this time but can sit on the shelf for the future.
Only other thing I'd suggest is the axle dust seal at the rear of the hub. These crack with age and fall off. Fortunately I planned ahead as the 02 XC70 had neither and the hubs had got really crusty because of that. The P80 was also the same issue (haven't checked if it is the same part, not expensive though).
Neil.

I've used this semi temp / permanent method on 2 CV Boots. The photo was taken Jan 26th 2024 and is on the driver's inner of the 09 S60 2.5T AWD. Cleaned, greased, seal with Saran Wrap one width / groove of boot, before wrapping over with self sticking tape. Not one drop and still holding up. Be sure to follow rotation of wheel when wrapping so it doesn't unravel.
You can used four small slim zip ties to close the boot after greasing to make it easier to Saran Wrap and tape. May also be able to insert the small groove of boot into a larger one and wrap.
The other car was the 08 C30 T5 M66 which was spitting grease but not broken. Injected greased with a needle at 4 points around the boot into the bearing and massaged boot to further push grease in. Cleaned the boot with degreaser and wrapped with self sticking tape, no Saran Wrap needed.
I've used the needle on broken boots of ball joints and tie rod ends. Can also wrap with self sticking tape. The steering feel is smooth again besides reduced road noise.
.
Use grease gun of choice, Lucas Red Tacky (preferred), Needle and Wrap. Do not use the high temp wrap as it's thicker, stiffer and does not conform as well. I have both the cloth / fleece and high temp wraps in various widths.
Excellent, better than CV joint grease.

Also consider how old the dust seals are on the hub bearings. If you pull the axle and the dust seal falls to pieces, you'll want another on hand.

Car will be parked with no extra strain on these. I do like Luggy's plastic bag and duct tape idea - the slush & slop season is soon approaching.
Oh, EDIT......Should I replace the transmission seal while I'm in there? And the carrier bearing?
