Vida/dice which version

Post by beewstew »

2004 xc70

Wondering about the dice units on ebay and the vida virtual machines online.

Specifically:

1. Can you check codes and program keys w/ the 2014 and earlier version of vida that's online at places like https://volvodiag.com/product/virtualbo ... windows10/? Do you need to buy the 3-day access from Volvo to use these vm's?

2. There are tons of dice units on ebay eg https://www.ebay.com/itm/126818581543 Is there a way to determine if the units are genuine (or at least functional copies?)

If there was a way, bad sellers would simply adopt that in their descriptions or photos, and then there wouldn't be a way again.

Search here... I think there were some good posts about not getting ripped off on DiCE recently. Or email me - I've got a contact here in Denver.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

google "boot and go"
he can also answer your tech questions, he sells vida systems, dice and the cheaper jrl cable which cannot program keys far as I know but the dice might.

I bought my dice on ebay, this was before there was a chip shortage and they started using hybrid chips that aren't good.
I would stay away from ebay today.
