'97 850 2-1-1 SRS code

So, her car ('97 GLT) has started to show an SRS light and the code is 2-1-1. DS airbag short circuit. It comes back after being reset (Autel EU702)

No other issues, and I noticed that the airbag clock-spring cable to the airbag was getting a little funky when I had the wheel off for the dash swap a little while back. That sound like a likely suspect?

I would agree it sounds like the clock spring. Does the horn work ok? If it does then it does not mean the part for the airbag on the clock-spring is not bad, but if the horn does not work as well then it is definitely the clock-spring.

Yeah. The horn works.

Going to see if replacing the clock spring solves it.

Well, the SRS light hasn't been back since the last reset a few days ago. I think that clock spring cable is the suspect, so I have another one on the way.

Replacement clock-spring is here, but the SRS light has remained off. (Of course).

If it rears its head again, I'll swap things out. Until then, I have other projects I need to spend my time on.
