PEM location on 2007 C30 T5 Topic is solved

In relation to this thread on the limp mode issue on this car I am about to get dropped off this weekend:

I am covering the potential fault sources and due to lack of having worked on a FWD P1 other than plug changes on a S40 NA I will be going on a voyage of discovery!

What I would like to know is where the PEM is located on a C30? I know where it is on a S40/V50 of this age (below the carpet on the drivers' side on LHD cars to the side of the rear seat under the carpet). I could only find one video om P1's that supposedly covered S40/V50/C70 but the info only covered the 4 door sedan/wagon and not the C70 P1. Access to the rear seat area is obviously going to be more challenging for me (being large!) but I don't want to be taking the rear of the car apart unless it is necessary!

My mechanic buddy (ex-Volvo) who owns 2 of these has no idea as he has never had to replace one.

I think the PEM is unlikely the issue, but want to know in case no other obvious candidates present themselves.

Connected to the rear trailing arm on passenger side. I’ve fixed 2 so far just giggling the wires. Lots of corrosion inside and on the connector both times but still working months later.

On a C30, as I have found out, it is under the RHS of the rear seat. You have to remove the seat base (there are 2 catches on the front edge). I found grabbing the outer front edge of the helped to release the front clips.

However, there is another clip/hook at the rear. So far I have not figured how to un-latch that. All the videos are unhelpful in this regard, as are any written instructions including Vida. They all hint at either pushing the base back or forward while lifting. So far none of that has worked.

Once you lift the seat base out, there is I believe a plastic cover held in with many nuts or bolts to remove, then the PEM is under that on the RHS. Simple case of disconnecting the connector and removing.

Refit is the reverse.

Once I figure out how to get the rear of the seat unlatched, I'll take pictures and add to this thread.
