Hi, I drive a Volvo XC90 2004 2.5t. I recently changed the cylinder head gasket. Few days after I noticed that
1. The car will struggle to start after I have driven for 25mins. Once it does start, it will jerk for like 20seconds with white heavy smoke coming out of the tail pipe. If I drive on 40mph for 5 mins the smoke will stop.
2. Had the car scanned and the only error code that came up is p0014
3. Anytime I parked the expansion tank goes empty and yet there is water on the dip stick
At this point I need all the help I can get before the mechanic turn this into a money making machine. Please any advise from the house will be appreciated especially from those with or has experienced same.
Thank you all
Jerking and smoking after warm start.

Welcome to MVS, Omoeki. White smoke is coolant getting into combustion. It can be caused by a few things, most notably ... head gasket.
p0014 points to timing.

Thanks @mathew1 I have read the article sent via the link. My case is quite different. There was never overheating I have replaced the gasket and all these was after the gasket change. Now I just park the car on the garage pending when I know what to do Mechanics around this part of the world will just keep eating your pockets. Though I intend to start one by one. First get the timing (p0014) resolved by resetting the timing. 2 then have the mechanic loose the engine and redo the gasket. My question is this: can all these affect the turbo?
