i am getting ready to replace the cmshaft sensor(9202134). Diagrams show that the sensor has 1 bolt that bolts into the cover. Looks like you do not have to remove cover, just remove the 1 bolt, the put sensor in place. Is this right???

According to the engine diagram, the sensor bolts into a housing(which I was referring to a cover). Maybe I was confusing the issue. Is there a cover over top the housing which the sensors bolts into. Somebody was saying all you have to do is unbolt the 1 screw and the sensor comes out.
I have the sensor:9202134. It is located externally, on the top of the engine, exposed and fastened with a single 10mm bolt. The wires disappear down the back of the engine, below the camshaft, then go forward a short distance, but I can't see where the connector is, no can I get my hand in as there are several very sharp protrusions that have cut my arms in several places as I tried to find the end of the wires and the plug.
Anyone have the same sensor and can advise how to get the plug out?

On the 1999 and 2000 the cam and crank sensors connector just in front of cylinder number 5, down low near the starter
The wires have to be routed carefully to avoid interference with starter wire current, they lock into plastic holders to prevent chafe. Don’t just connect and forget, that’s a carefully engineered system there.

Thanks for you quick response.
That locations seems correct, as I can feel what seems to be a connector, but it is impossible to see or even to get a photo. Just pulling on the connector doesn't undo it, so could you post a photo of the connector so I can see what to do to get it undone?

Its a standard Volvo electrical connector - depress the tab on the top, pull parts apart.
Yes, they are tough. Sometimes it helps to push them together before depressing the release button.
One of the reasons Volvo have few wiring issues is the quality of the connectors.
