I'm thinking main bearings were already going and then a valve burnt/dropped causing it to further self destruct. Using regular gas when this happened by chance?

If you want the car to disappear instead of the storage option, just post a listing on craigslist claiming a copy of Epstein's client list (printed on a dot matrix printer using green bar tractor feed paper) is in it...

It had 91+ octane in it from a major chain. Also had topped off the oil earlier in the day.

I pulled the dipstick yesterday when I stopped to take the battery. The oil looked suspiciously thin and jet black (basically the opposite of how it looked when I topped it off).

It happen to smell like antifreeze by chance? Or ATF (if auto...)

Unfortunately, I was (and still am) suffering from a massive sinus infection. Could not smell. I was becoming suspicious of a bad head gasket, but all tests were negative prior to the destruction.

I think rod and/or main bearing major failure is detected with a Fluke test and not a UOI sample. Set meter to ohms and stick it into debris in bottom of pan. 2 ohms or lower is really bad.

I still haven't gotten around to tearing this engine apart. Still trying to get the new engine to run correctly. But I did perform a quick compression test before yanking the old engine. All the cylinders had low compression, but cylinder 3 or 4 (probably 4) had no compression. Stuck a borescope down each cylinder. Lots of carbon build up and cylinder 4 appeared to have lots of scoring. All the plugs had nasty amounts of buildup. Still plan on tearing this apart one day, but for now it looks like catastrophic cylinder failure, possibly broken rings, perhaps caused by a failed rod bearing.

Aren’t the valve guides bronze? Coking and sticking valves will machine the guides and give you golden spiked oil
