Apologies but I saw hundreds of posts for "coolant leak" and I did not look at them all.
I am starting to lose a little coolant - need to top off reservoir once a month or so. I feared head gasket & then noticed some on garage floor. I am attempting to post a picture - taken from underneath the car looking up. The picture shows a plastic vent tube of some sort that has traces of coolant running down it. What is this tube?
The water pump is not visible as it's behind the timing cover. But if it is leaking (weep hole) does it get flung out by reciprocating parts or just drip in one spot?
Thanks for any tips. I am 10K miles away from a timing belt (due at 240K) so I may try to live with it until then or if it gets bad just accelerate that service.

Thx - that would be nice if it was the reservoir. BTW I have never been able to release the tab that connects the coolant reservoir to the power steering reservoir. I have tried and tried!

Thanks. I have seen some videos where it just pops right off and others where both coolant & power steering reservoirs got taken out together as they could not separate them while in place.

At this 240K mileage...
- WP
- Reservoir and its small hose.
- Thermostat gasket and the small hose (I posted some tricks in this forum).
- Radiator itself.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

I'm going to go out and turn the hose on right now - thanks!
UPDATE
I just put the hose in each of the 2 cowl drains. Both of them appeared to drain maybe 3 feet aft of what we were thinking was the cowl drain tube exit. Nothing came out of it. I appreciate the suggestion - I thought that was going to be it!
