'94 940 CR 718 Radio Code

My daughter recently bought a 1994 940 with the Volvo CR 718 radio installed.

Can't turn it on, get "Error" on the panel.

1. How do I find the code?
2. How do I enter the code?

Your volvo main agent will supply codes for radios fitted when the car was new. You will need to provide them with logbook and proof that you own the vehicle.

You can calculate the code using the software: "CODE Calculator - Generator for some car radios
v2.12.51.63"

I did it with mine - works perfect!
You have to open the radio, locate the 12 diodes on the PCB and measure which of them are present and which - not. These are the 12 bits that the on-board CPU uses to calculate your radio code.

The radio is EXCELLENT! I replaced my older unit with CR-718 and the change in the sound quality is Amazing!
