C30 Headlight Question

Post by C30ing »

Hello. I'm new to the forum and to Volvo ownership. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 2009 C30 T5 R Design. So far I'm loving it, but like any used car, it has a few issues. I'll be buying new rear shocks and associated parts to get rid of the clunking in the rear end. I'll follow up with motor and transmission mounts.

What I could use some info on is regarding the headlights. Last weekend I wrapped the left headlight wires in electrical tape because the plastic coating on the wires is deteriorating and causing the bulbs to short out randomly. This worked for about a week. Is there a wire harness I can get to replace the old wires? These are the xenon headlights.

Also, is there a site here I can get parts diagrams and part numbers?

Thanks.

This has worked well and pretty permanent. Do not get the high temp tape as it is stiff and more electrical tape like whereas this is a felt tape with self adhesive on both sides yet not sticky with use. Excellent for interior hardness and other wiring needs.

Thank you so much. I have the tape ordered. What did you use to secure the lens to the assembly?

We reheated the oid adhesive and clamped. We also used exterior window silicone on some areas we felt that required it.
