I replaced my oil trap with a NAPA NBH EMH932.
Followed a youtube video and easy job.
Just a caution. The bolts on the rear can be a little difficult to remove if you don't have the right tools. A wobble adapter really helped me. Also when installing the rear bolts be careful not to cross thread the bolts. Soft aluminum makes it easy to do. I had one that was difficult and had to take the oil trap back off. Thread the bolt on correctly as I started it incorrectly on the first install. Then reinstalled the oil trap. Torque bolts to 10nm. I needed to use a rubber mallet and tap the oil trap a couple times to loosen it.
My volvo shop recommended to NOT just replace the diaphragm as they said they don't last and can be problematic. If you decide to purchase the diaphragm buy the cap, diaphragm and spring as a kit. I removed the cap on my old one by using a small flat screwdriver with a sharp edge and using a small hammer chiseled three of the CAP tabs off. Just don't damage the tabs the cap attached to. Now you can snap the new one on. I did this just in case I decide to install just the diaphragm the next time.
Update...since replacing the oil trap the engine performance has been great. No bank codes which I was having , and it appears my gas mileage has improved. Very satisfied!!

That was helpful as I have an 09 S80 3.2, 12 & 14 XC90 3.2 all on non-op I need to visit when I get back on my feet. Not sure if any of them needed yet but I was thinking just diaphragm but the clips on the cap look like they can break easily. Keep us posted on the NAPA as some people swear by Volvo only for that part.

The oil trap is a gates product. It's recommended to change 90 to 100k. I had a loud whistle noise and it was because the diaphragm became clogged and the engine couldn't breath. If you drive very far without changing the trap you will blowout the engine seals and it will be very expensive to repair. Don't wait for that to happen!!!
