I want the old oil back, too, as well as a $5 fee for disposal.

I know it's a selfish request, but are you gonna share the contact data of your dealer If the total costs are between 1 and 500 dollars? :D

Absolutely not.

Well here is the verdict

3523.10

Windshield not included
They want to replace all my tires since they are in betweem 5-10 years old, with 4/32 tread. Ill decline that and not included

I have to feel good that for the first time for this car to see a dealer, its basically a timing belt job, but wow, thats a lof of labor for that work. On top of that, thats gold plated parts pricing even for Volvo stuff

Nailed it. This is right about what I guessed. Could have been much worse, so congrats on that :)

hah, they took all the individual labor chgs for each component and ganged them into a grand total.
With no experience at all, the first time only took 4 hours, including a cross threaded water pump bolt which we corrected with a tap.

What is the labor charge on that in terms of $/hr and total hours? Is it around 10 hours?

My ex-Volvo mechanic did that job on our 06 XC70 I don't think it was more than about 3 hours if that.

As suggested, I think someone is milking the hours for each independent job.

I recall Audi wanting 8 hours to replace the 8 front control arms on my wife's 99 A4 2.6 AWD. I asked them if they were taking the piss. We agreed on 4 hours to allow for potentially rusted bolts.

Good luck!

Neil.

Doing the timing belt a handful of times on P2s it only took me 4 hours for a complete TB and water pump replacement last October. I did it on a 2006 S60 owned by a friend's dad. The water pump kit on FCPEURO including the Moly radiator flush only cost $440.

Abscate, the entire contest is now "under protest" hahaha  and will be brought before the judge panel for review of the video. Depending on the 4 tire upsell seems like my $5,999 prediction would be pretty close.

A trusting consumer might have taken the new tire package too.
