With no information except year/mileage of the vehicle, it's impossible to guess.
The owner may go in with any number of KNOWN maintenance / repair needs.
This workload has nothing to do with what MIGHT be found.

Ergo, I selected the modest $1,500-$1,999 range, figuring the mechanic would "keep it low" to see how amenable to big repair bills the OP is.

Today's coffee is "Overthinking Blend"

My rule for costing anything here is

1 Whats a reasonable price?
B. Double it because I am the second biggest cheapskate in life
iii) Double it again - becuase Long Island.
