2000 v70 xe turbo,brakes

is there a post to go to on how to change the brakes on my volvo,ive changed them on my ford trucks. r they very complex?

im having trouble finding the right size hex for the slides on the calipar,it said 7,thats not the size i have have you had any trouble removing front slides.

It is indeed a 7mm hexagonal socket...at least on both of our FWD Volvo's and what is listed for your car in VADIS. Btw, what does the "xe" in your title stand for?

On my son's car the caliper pins on one side were actually torx head bolts. Obviously the hardware had been changed at some point or another. I can't remember the torx size but you might want to try shoving in various sized torx sockets and see if that doesn't work.

on the right front i have used one hex and one torx,the other side are totally different both r smaller in size,and both different. gonna have to get some hex +torx standard and metric

thanks for your help i bought a set of torx and it fit perfect,but u won't believe this i pulled out the other shoes in the box and the center of one of the shoes had ths center of the shoe ground down 1/3 of the thickness,some defect from raybestos, u know how the machine cuts the edges on one the corner on one side ,well this is the one thats flat and in the center it was ground down,unbelievable,none in stock ,have to wait till the truck brings a new set

Stay with OEM pads and you won't have that problem...nor squeaks that you might get with Raybestos (although you will get the dust- all OEM pads do this but the trade off is worth it for me).
