If you have the Nivomats, you can get adaptors that met you put regular struts in the rear instead of FCP or IPD replacements. I did that for my 99 V70. I pulled springs from a non nivomat wagon at the JY and used the T-bar adaptors for bolstering rears. I got mine from summit racing.

If you ditch the Nivomats and end up going with new rear springs, the ones marketed as "heavy duty" or "overload" will be great for towing/hauling as well as everyday driving. I prefer them in the P80 wagons.
