Can anyone help with new ideas!

Car has B5254T2 motor, 2006 with turbo and 209 hp.

Its VVT sprocket area leaks oil. Oil can be seen coming behind the sprocket. I have replaced the axial seal between VVT-sprocket and the engine body - called front cam seal. I also have there a new VVT-sprocket having also a new green O-ring inside.

But no matter which depth I install the seal, I get oil leak from behind the VVT sprocket. I have Volvo tools +0, +1 mm and +2 mm, but no help.

The issue started when I installed the cylinder head after machinery works and replaced turbo.. (The cylinder 3 had issue which was caused by a loosen steel ball, which had got loose from a banjo bolt and entered into the intake manifold and from there into the nr 3 cylinder and finally through turbo to exhaust pipe.)

I have checked and learnt myself all about this issue, but no success to find the reason.

Today I started to think, if the cylinder head gasket is not correct and not suitable for this engine even...blocking oil flow.

These are unfixable. Same deal here, no matter what seal, how and where you put it, it always leak immediately.

Well - it was OK beforehand. Now I used a RTV silicon sealant outside the cam seal. Lets' see tomorrow when it will be dry, how it works.

Nice advices here: viewtopic.php?t=100439

How many km on the odometer?

After some 200K km...the Exhaust VVT has so much wear that you need a new hub.

Yes, it has 330.000 km. I measured exhaust: 3,2 mm and intake 1,7 mm.
I replaced both.

What brand of seals are you using? When I bought my 00 V70R it had supposedly had the engine seals done. Not long after buying it I had to pull the engine and replace all the crank and cam seals as they were leaking.

Since then, I only use Volvo or Corteco (OEM supplier) seals.

Is you seal fitted back to the same depth the original came out?

Yeah, issue can be Victor Heinz seals, which I tried. Corteco could be more tight.

I tested different depth, but no difference. Used 3D printed, original design tools.

Did you verify the PCV system is clear and the glove test passes? The slight vacuum inside the engine from the PCV system helps keep oil from leaking out the cam seals.
