1999 S70 GLT. Occasionally (3 times now over the course of approx 4 to 6 weeks) the engine will stall when I hit the brakes. I run in rush hour traffic every weekday 5 days per week
Times #1 and #2: cruising along in rush hour traffic at ~ 60 Mph and have to hit the brakes and slow down fast
Time #3 - this morning while sitting at a red light - light turns green everyone starts to accelerate (this again is a highway). I accelerate only to have the car ahead of me hit the brakes, I hit mine and it stalls. Now this is not a bury-the-nose-of-the-car type stop, more of a hard stop.
the car always starts back up, no issue.
there are 2 issues with my car I need to address - not sure either contributes or is a cause but still:
1) - i have a leak in the pipe going to the ETM i recently discovered during a smoke test which has not yet been addressed
2) - pretty sure the check valve on the fuel pump is bad. - plenty of fuel pressure, it just doesnt hold after i shut the car off
thoughts?

You need to have a nice tight induction path on a turbo me7 car (1999-on)
Get that snorkel leak fixed first

Check the big accordion-type pipe going to the MAF sensor. Feel all around for cracks or even take it off and bend it.

Eyeball that fuel pump sometime soon. Often "failing check valve" on a P80 is actually the hose inside the assembly is coming loose. Short, submersible fuel line hose between the electric pump and the top of the assembly.
