I have the fancy HID headlights on my car (and am grateful that this board showed me how to aim them). Normally two front running lights burn up front until it gets a bit dark at which point the running lights shut off and the main beams turn on. These days the main beams don't come on unless I turn them on manually, although the running lights turn off as prescribed. The dealer says 250 bucks to replace that switch. If I knew the part number and where that switch is located I'm pretty sure I could do it without paying an hour's labor for a 5 minute job. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Steve

If your lights come on manually (when you turn the switch, as you always should so you have high beams) then
I'm pretty sure your switch is fine.
It has lost its memory and a software re-initialization should take care of it
