Timing belt broke. 99 S80 2.9

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

VADIS lists the cylinder head bolts (starting at the middle and working outward to the outer ones) at:
20Nm (14.75 lbs, ft), then
60Nm (44.25 lbs, ft), then
Angle-tighten another 130 degrees.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Finally located the cam locking tool and set up the engine yesterday.
Anyone tell me the proper procedure to refill the cooling system? I tried to refill through the upper radiator hose and the fitting but there must be a correct way.

Thanks

Before starting make sure heater controls are on max heat.

Refill through the expansion tank, slowly, to avoid air locks. Also, from time to time, massage the radiator hoses to help dispel any air. When the system is full install the cap on the expansion tank and run the engine until the thermostat opens. Switch off and top up the system if necessary.

Thanks to all and this forum.
Yes it,s finally together and has been running like new.
Basically a new valve job because of a parted timing belt.
Now to see if any of the electrical problems rear there heads again.
Found a local shop that was willing to loan me the cam lock tool.
And the VADIS CDs from E-Bay

From my VADIS:
Installing the cylinder head
Install a new cylinder head gasket.
Install the cylinder head. Use new screws.
Lubricate and install all the screws.
Tighten the screws in the order illustrated.
Tighten the screws in the following order:
1. 20 Nm.
2. 60 Nm.
3. Angle-tighten 130°. Use bevel protractor 951 2050 .

Don't know if this will work. Tried pasting from VADIS to a .doc file.
