i've spent alot of cash at my mechanic's workshop to try and rectify what seems to be an ignition problem. The car runs nicely, but for no reason the engine stops randomly. Even my mechanic is scratching his head wondering. Another says it will be the coil. But before I go looking, I'd rather have more info. It's not good to stop in the middle of intersections or downhill on windy roads I can tell you.
Other problems I have are the radio code and faulty LCD on it and the odometer just stopped too. The speedo works tho'. Can anyone out there help me please?
why is it so? Topic is solved

What model and year is your car? Turbo or NA?
When the the odometer quits on an 850 it is because a little plastic gear inside has sheared its teeth. The dealer repair is about $400+. You can get the gear from odometergears.com for about $26. This requires removing the instrument cluster and it takes about 4 hours of careful work, but if you are interested in saving money it is doable. A good how-to is required along with some patience and reasonable skill.
Someone else perhaps will step up and address your other problems.

Perhaps the key ignition switch is bad.
